Joplin man killed in one-vehicle accident at 32nd & Prigmore

A man from Joplin is dead after a one-vehicle accident late Monday night.

Joplin Police say at 11:18pm they received a 911 report of a vehicle fire near 32nd Street and Prigmore Avenue.

The pickup truck was traveling east on 32nd and hit the traffic light support pole and caught fire.

The driver of the vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene. He has been identified as 19-year-old Cody Shaver.

There were no other occupants in the vehicle. The Joplin Police Department Major Crash Team is continuing to investigate the fatal incident.
