Joplin man arrested, accused of stealing telecommunication wire
A man from Joplin is charged with stealing $2,000 worth of telecommunication wire.
The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office says 35-year-old Jordan T. Romero was arrested Wednesday after they were alerted to the stolen wire early Tuesday morning near High Street in Sarcoxie.
On scene, deputies located a 250-foot section of aerial telecommunications cable that had been cut from telephone poles.
During the investigation, Jasper County detectives received information of a vehicle matching the description of a suspect vehicle was located in the area of the 1100 block of S. Monroe Ave in Joplin.
During a search warrant of the home, the stolen cable was located as well as additional stolen cable from other thefts, totaling 470 feet in length.
This is the third arrest for the felony stealing of communication wire made by the Sheriff’s Office in the past year.
This case is still actively being investigated and more felony charges and arrests may occur.
