Early morning accident injures driver from Wheaton

A southwest Missouri resident was injured after a crash on Missouri 76 about 1/2 mile south of Wheaton in Barry County around 1:28 a.m. Saturday.

The Highway Patrol says a 2003 Chevy Suburban driven by 21-year-old Matthew P. Oldnettle of Wheaton failed to negotiate a curve, went off the left side of the road and overturned.

Oldnettle was ejected from the vehicle.

He suffered serious injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital in Joplin.
