Missouri’s paddlefish season is here.
The season to catch the prehistoric monsters runs through April 30th at the Lake of the Ozarks, Truman Reservoir, and Table Rock Lake, along with most other waters in Missouri.
The season for the Mississippi River runs through May 15, with a fall season from September 15 through December 15.
Paddlefish – which were around when dinosaurs walked on this Earth — can grow to seven feet and weigh more than 100 pounds.
A fishing permit is required for snagging and other allowed methods, unless exempt. The daily limit is two paddlefish, and the possession limit is four.
