Owasso students stage walkout in support of Nex Benedict

Students at Owasso, Oklahoma’s High School staged a walk-out this morning.

The students were paying tribute to the memory of 16-year-old Nex Benedict.

The student, who reportedly identified as non-binary, died in early February one day after a fight at school.

The death remains under investigation.

Anti-protesters were also reported to be at the school this morning.

There have been several vigils for Benedict and her family in Oklahoma since her death.
