Unborn baby a Missouri state employee?

A bill in the Missouri House General Law committee this week states that an unborn child cannot be considered as a state employee.  

During a lawsuit, the state claimed the unborn child of a MoDot worker that was killed was a state employee to pay lower legal damages under workers comp.  

According to Neosho state Representative Ben Baker:  “It’s just crazy that the state claimed an unborn child is an employee of the state.  It’s problematic for many reasons they took that position.”
