Worker death at Schreiber Foods in Carthage being investigated
UPDATE: Authorities have identified the victim as 48-year-old Jackie Scott Parker Jr., of Neosho.
Schreiber Foods released this statement:
“We’re devastated by the loss of one of our dear friends and coworkers. Our thoughts and prayers go out to family and friends at this difficult time. We ask that you please respect their privacy during this emotional period. We’re working with authorities to investigate the incident. Grief counselors are onsite to help employees as they mourn the loss of this valued and long-term member of our company. We’ll continue to provide that counseling as long as needed. Additional counseling is available through our employee assistance program.”

A worker death has been reported at Schreiber Foods in Carthage.
Carthage Police Lt. Eric Miller tells Newstalk KZRG they were called to the plant on Claxton Avenue at3:42pm Tuesday after a man fell into a machine.
Miller says upon arrival, the man was unconscious with shallow breathing. Fire and EMS also responded and CPR was performed for 30 minutes before the 48-year-old victim was then pronounced dead at the scene.
His name is not being released until authorities notify all next of kin.
It is being investigated as an industrial accident.
