Theme announced for Freeman 5K and the 17th Annual Walk for Autism

Freeman officials today unveiled the exciting new theme for the Freeman 5K and the
17th Annual Walk for Autism.

Leffen Center interim director Teresa Rosebrough-Sneed, says the 2024 theme will be Walk, Run, & Roar.

For the fifth straight year, these combined events will raise funds that support program development and scholarship assistance at Bill & Virginia Leffen Center for Autism.

The mile-long walk and certified 5K will take place at 8:00 am on Saturday, April 20, starting out
in front of Leffen Center. Food trucks, vendors, basket raffles and prizes will be on-hand during
the dinosaur-themed event.

The Leffen Center provides diagnostic, treatment and educational services for individuals with
autism spectrum disorder.

Because April is National Autism Awareness Month, the walk and race are wonderful ways to educate the public about autism spectrum disorder, in which more than 5.4 million adults in the
U.S., or 2.2% of the U.S. population, are on the autism spectrum.
