Highway patrol identifies fisherman who drowned in Stockton Lake
The Missouri State Highway Patrol has released the name of a man who drowned at Stockton Lake in Cedar County late Friday night.
He is 52-year-old Travis A. McCann of Miller, Mo.
The Patrol says McCann fell overboard and went under the water and never resurfaced.
McCann was not wearing a flotation device when he fell from the Seeark boat he was driving.
He had been on a fishing trip with two other men, both of whom were on shore at the time of the accident.
McCann’s body was recovered around 9:15 Saturday morning, according to MSHP Troop D Sergeant Mike McClure.
The death was Highway Patrol Troop D’s first drowning of 2024.
