Senator Jill Carter Urges Missouri Governor to Help Protect the United States-Mexico Border
JEFFERSON CITY — After the United States Supreme Court ruled this week that federal officials could remove razor wire along the United States-Mexico border, State Sen. Jill Carter, R-Granby, filed Senate Concurrent Resolution 29 urging Missouri’s governor to stand with the governor of Texas and support his efforts to protect the border.
“I believe we need to stand with Texas to defend and secure our southern border,” said Sen. Carter. “This concurrent resolution urges our governor to deploy the Missouri National Guard and assist Texas officials.”
Texas officials installed the razor-wire fencing along the Rio Grande as part of Operation Lone Star, a border security initiative launched in 2021 by the governor of Texas to deter migrants from entering the United States illegally.
