Missouri House Republicans establish caucus policy group to identify legislative priorities
The Missouri House Republican Caucus has announced a new sub-caucus on policy development.
The group will work to discuss proposed house bills and recommend which ones should be legislative priorities for the caucus.
House Speaker Dean Plocher says that having a Republican supermajority makes it difficult to develop a consensus on which bills should be a priority. Who will make up this new sub-caucus is unknown.
This news comes as the same Republican supermajority in the Missouri Senate is at odds with each other over what the Republican priorities should be to get legislation passed.
On Thursday, the Missouri Freedom Caucus, made up of far-right Senators, blocked Senate business for nearly ten hours to argue over what policies should be a priority for Senate Republicans.
