Reward goes up in Greene County animal abuse case

The reward is increasing for information leading to an arrest in a case of animal abuse in Greene County.

The reward has now increased from $1,000 to $16,000 thanks to support from the public.

On Friday, Greene County Sheriff Jim Sheriff Arnott addressed the media with information about the animal abuse case that took place on January 11th.

The heeler mix was discovered with burns on its body and its legs tied.

The dog was still alive when found but died later at an animal hospital.

“This community does not accept animal abuse or animal cruelty,” Sheriff Arnott said.

“We need the public’s assistance to solve this horrendous crime,” the Sheriff stated in a Facebook post.”We urge anyone with information about this case to call the Greene County Sheriff’s Office crime tip line at 417-829-6230.”
