Parts of Hammer Road in Neosho to close due to roundabout construction at Highway 86

Portions of Hammer Road in Neosho is set to be closed due to construction of a roundabout at the intersection of Highway 86. Read more from MoDOT below:

Where: Hammer Road CLOSED at Missouri Route 86 in Neosho

When: Beginning 7 a.m., Monday, January 22 for up to eight weeks

What: Contractor crews beginning the work of constructing a dual-lane roundabout and making intersection improvements on Route 86 at Hammer Road between I-49 and Missouri Route 175 (Gateway Drive)

Traffic impacts:

• Beginning January 22, no access to Hammer Road north of the intersection
• Drivers can expect occasional lane restrictions
• Route 86 center turn lane and both westbound lanes will be CLOSED
• Traffic will be shifted head-to-head in both eastbound Route 86 lanes
• Drivers will have access to Hammer Road south of the intersection
• Access to all businesses on Route 86 will be open during construction
• No signed detour
• Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching the work zone
• Drivers urged to find alternate routes to avoid work zone
• Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts
