Snow tapers off, COLD remains, roads covered
The snow is tapering off in the Joplin Metro but road conditions have been rough in some parts of the area.
UPDATE: I-44 westbound has reopened after several crashes in northeast Oklahoma
Many major roads are partially covered but side roads will be fully covered

In total, portions of the area saw up to 3 inches of snow, with the heaviest amounts the further south you live.
Wind chills will remain dangerously low tonight into Tuesday.
A Wind Chill Advisory is in effect for the entire area until noon Tuesday. Minimum temperatures as low as -5 degrees with wind chills from -10 to -20 are expected. Dress in layers, bring pets inside and check on elderly neighbors and family.
