Amy Kauffman new director of MOKAN partnership

Joplin, MO – The MOKAN Partnership and its Board of Directors have selected Amy Kauffman as the new Executive Director of MOKAN. 

Kauffman holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Education in Psychology from the University of Central Missouri. Since 2010, she has served in various capacities across the Joplin and Pittsburg areas, working most recently as the Director of the Cherokee County Economic Development Corporation.

Kauffman previously served as MOKAN’s Business Development Coordinator from 2021 to early 2023, during which time she promoted business development, growth, and retention and supported workforce development and retention efforts throughout the MOKAN region.

“We are thrilled to welcome Amy back to the MOKAN organization, this time in the Executive Director’s role,” says Travis Stephens, President of MOKAN. “Her expertise, enthusiasm, and passion for advancing the greater area’s economic opportunities make her the ideal person to lead our collaborative efforts. We are immensely excited to begin a new chapter of growth and commitment to the region’s economic vitality.”

Kauffman’s first day with the Partnership was January 1st.

As MOKAN’s Executive Director, she will work with regional business leaders to advance economic development, community growth, and regional partnerships throughout a seven-county tri-state region of Missouri, Oklahoma, and Kansas.
