Time to pay up on local personal and real estate property taxes.

The deadline is approaching for Missourians to pay up on their personal and real estate property taxes. 

The taxes are due by the end of each year before penalty charges begin to kick in. 

The bills are for things like homes and commercial buildings, as well as vehicles, boats, and other personal property registered in their county. 

The taxes pay for local priorities, such as school districts, libraries, and fire protection districts, among other things. 

A shortage of new vehicles has led to higher annual property tax bills on used vehicles.
