NEO to use Arvest donation to implement a fingerprint scanning system

Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College received a donation from the Arvest Foundation for $18,500.

NEO will use the funds to assist the on-campus Oklahoma Small Business Development Center and to implement a fingerprint scanning system at the NEO Department of Public Safety

The NEO Department of Public Safety will receive $16,000 of the donation from the Arvest Foundation for a digital fingerprint scanning system networked with state and federal databases.

The system will provide legal fingerprinting for background checks prior to employment or licensure, with a significant focus on the needs of NEO nursing students.

To become a Registered Nurse, all students must pass a background check, including official fingerprinting. Once the new system is installed, NEO Nursing students can visit the campus police department for digital fingerprinting services.

“The NEO A&M College Department of Public Safety is very grateful for the assistance from the Arvest Foundation in purchasing an electronic fingerprint scanner,” said NEO Chief of Police Buddy Lambert. “This technology will streamline criminal investigations conducted by campus police, as well as provide a service to our campus community.”

The OSBDC will receive $2,500 of the donation from the Arvest Foundation. The center provides training to small business owners and entrepreneurs on a variety of business topics. The OSBDC network is part of America’s SBDC, consisting of 62 other programs across other states and territories.
