Joplin City Council to meet Monday evening

The Joplin City Council meets in regular session Monday evening.

Items on the agenda include the swearing-in of Anthony Monteleone as a City Council member. He’ll be filling out the term of Kate Spencer who resigned from the Council several weeks ago.

The Council will hear a presentation from Missouri-American Water regarding that company’s effort to remove all lead pipes from communities.

The Council will consider, on first reading a public service agreement between The City of Joplin and
Economic Security Corporation to fund the Coordinated Entry Program. That program is described as a critical tool in addressing homelessness in the city.

Council members also consider an agreement between the City and the Homeless Coalition that pertains to 2023 CDBG public service grant funds.

The meeting gets underway at 6 p.m. Monday evening in fifth-floor Council Chambers at City Hall at 602 S. Main Street.
