Webb City Police investigating reported “road rage” incident

On Friday, at about 1:30 p.m., Officers with the Webb City Police Department were dispatched to the area of Madison at 13th Streets in reference to a road rage incident.

The caller stated that the driver of a blue Chevrolet truck was waving a rifle out the window as the truck was northbound on Madison Street.  Officers were able to locate the truck near the entrance to Walmart on 13th Street at Madison Street.  Officers conducted a felony traffic stop and were able to detain the driver, a 31-year-old white male from Granby, without incident.

Officers recovered a rifle from the truck.  The driver was taken into custody for the below listed charges:

* Driving While Revoked
* Open Container of Alcoholic Beverage
* Driving While Intoxicated – Persistent Offender
* Unlawful Possession of a Firearm

The name of the person arrested is being withheld pending the filing of formal charges with the appropriate Prosecutor’s Office.

All persons are assumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
