On Friday, December 8th, around 6:53 a.m., deputies with the Barton County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a person ramming vehicles on private property.
The first Deputy on the scene attempted to stop the subject.
During the incident, gunfire was exchanged between the suspect and the deputy.
At this time there is no immediate threat to the public as this was an isolated event.
The deputy involved in the incident has been placed on paid administrative leave per department policy until the investigation is complete.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol is reportedly assisting with the investigation.
