Morning accident injures man from Joplin

An accident this morning (Saturday) on Marten Road 3 miles east of Joplin resulted in injuries to a Joplin resident.

The Missouri Highway Patrol accident report says the wreck occurred around 9 a.m. when a 2012 Kia Sportage traveled off the right side of the roadway, overcorrected, went off the left side of the roadway, struck an embankment and overturned.

There were two occupants in vehicle but it is unknown which was the driver and who the other occupant was. The occupant found in the car and transported to the hospital was located at his residence.

He is 63-year-old Gary L. Hood of Joplin.

He was transported by EMS to a Joplin hospital.
