Oh deer! Missouri’s November firearms deer hunting season is over.
The season has wrapped up with nearly 200-thousand deer shot and killed.
Preliminary data from the Missouri Department of Conservation shows more than 105-thousand of those were antlered bucks, nearly 72-thousand were does, and about 16-thousand were young male deer.
Top harvest counties were Franklin, followed by Texas, and Howell.
This year’s total was three-percent lower than last year and two-percent higher than the previous five-year average.
Deer hunting continues with the new chronic wasting disease firearms season running today through this Sunday in CWD Management Zone counties.
Archery deer hunting is underway today through January 15.
Another youth deer hunting season runs this Friday through Sunday.
