Thanksgiving holiday closes City offices, alters residential trash schedule
In recognition of the Thanksgiving holiday, the City of Joplin offices will be closed on Thursday, November 23, and Friday, November 24.
This closing includes the Joplin Recycling Center and MAPS transportation services.
City Hall and other City services, except for the Recycling Center, will reopen to the public at 8 a.m. on Monday, November 27.
Following the holiday closure, the Recycling Center will move to its regular operation hours, open on Saturday, November 25, and closed on Sunday and Monday. The Center is open 12 noon to 6 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday.
Public Safety services (Police and Fire Departments), Joplin Regional Airport and Wastewater Division will continue to operate throughout the Thanksgiving holidays, as these departments run 24/7 throughout the year.
Joplin citizens are reminded that residential trash and curbside recycling will NOT be picked up on Thursday, November 23, Thanksgiving Day. Customers who usually have trash or curbside recycling service on Thursdays will have their service on Friday, November 24.
Friday customers will have their trash or recycling picked up on Saturday, November 25.
