St. Louis residents can soon submit reimbursements claims for stolen Kias and Hyundais
Residents in St. Louis can soon submit reimbursement claims for their stolen Kia and Hyundai vehicles…
Residents in the St. Louis region can expect to receive notice in March to submit their claims in a nationwide class action lawsuit against two car manufacturers blamed for a surge in auto thefts that began last year.
The settlement with Kia and Hyundai will cost the companies more than $200 million and will compensate owners of certain 2011 through 2022 models whose cars were either damaged in an attempted theft or stolen, according to a St. Louis newspaper.
Rates of stolen Kias and Hyundais skyrocketed in the region last year because of a viral TikTok video that shows how to break into and drive off in many of the models of the South Korean-made vehicles.
