Juvenile carjacker arrested after fleeing from Galena Tuesday
A juvenile is facing multiple charges after an apparent carjacking in Galena, Kansas, Tuesday evening.
On November 7, at 5:00 pm, officers with the Galena Police Department received a call of a possible Car Jacking at the Dollar Tree.
When officers arrived, they were informed that a male subject forced the owner of a vehicle out of their car with a knife. The suspect then took off west bound on 7th Street.
During their investigation, officers discovered that Cherokee County Deputies were working on a runaway juvenile case within the county. The description given by the victims matched the description of the runaway Juvenile. An Attempt to locate for the Juvenile and Vehicle was put out to all Law Enforcement agencies.
At midnight, the Galena Police Department received notification that the Juvenile was located in Grady County, Oklahoma, just southwest of Oklahoma City, after being involved in an accident with the vehicle.
The Juvenile is currently in the Juvenile Detention Center. Charges are being submitted for Aggravated Criminal Threat, Aggravated Robbery and Aggravated Endangering a Child.
