Ford’s Kansas City workers approve new contract following strike
Progress for workers at the Ford plant near Kansas City.
Union workers at the Ford Assembly Plant in Claycomo have voted to approve a new contract with Ford.
A Kansas City TV station reports the union has approved the nationally negotiated agreement. UAW members across the country are in the process of voting on the tentative agreements with Ford, General Motors, and Stellantis.
Unlike the auto strike in Wentzville, near St. Louis, workers in Claycomo never did walk off the job.
The four-year agreements include an increase in pay as well as new agreements on health care and retirement benefits.
