PSU Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Combo to host SEK District Jazz Band
The PSU Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Combo will host the SEK District Jazz Band in a 7 p.m. concert on Nov. 15 in the Bicknell Family Center for the Arts, 1711 S. Homer. It is free and open to the public.
The PSU Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Combo, comprised of university students who auditioned, are directed by Professor Todd Hastings and will be playing a mix of standards and contemporary tunes.
The SEK District Jazz Band, comprised of selected high school students who auditioned from across Southeast Kansas on Nov. 4 for a chance to perform, will be directed by Ryan Heinlein, who has been playing trombone professionally since age 15.
