Missouri American Water to host Safety Fair Wednesday at Downstream

JOPLIN, Mo. (October 24, 2023) – Opportunities to explore the latest tools and equipment designed to make the construction and utility industries safer will be on display at a safety fair presented by Missouri American Water. The event is open to area construction and utility workers, industry leaders, civic leaders and community stakeholders.

The event is slated for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday at Downstream Casino and Resort in the Convention Center.

It will feature interactive exhibits, engaging presentations and a K9 demonstration from the Joplin Police Department.

“Safety is an integral part of our culture, and this event is designed to introduce our employees and others throughout the community in related fields to several variations of safety equipment, including personal protective equipment,” said Matthew Barnhart, director of operations for Missouri American Water. “It’s all about employees returning home safely to their families after a day’s work.
