PSU Indian Student Association plans Diwali: Festival of Lights

The Indian Student Association at Pittsburg State University will host Diwali, the festival of lights, on Friday, Oct. 27, at the Bicknell Family Center for the Arts, 1711 S. Homer.

Campus and community members are invited to experience Indian culture with music and dance, authentic Indian food, and fireworks. Doors open at 3 p.m. Performances begin on stage at 4 p.m.

A catered Indian meal will be served in the lobby at 7 p.m.

Fireworks will conclude the evening in the parking lot west of the Weede Building.

Tickets are $15 and can be purchased in advance by contacting Srikar at 425-625-9309 or Prince at 620-454-9601.

Tickets will be sold on The Oval or in the Overman Student Center / Gorilla Crossroads (depending on the weather) from noon to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

Henna tattoos will be available at the ticket table with designs ranging from $2-$10. Tickets also can be purchased at the door the day of the event.
