Couple arrested in Kansas after allegedly assaulting Jasper officer

A pair from Columbia, Missouri, taken into custody after they allegedly assaulted a Jasper Police officer Monday night.

Police say during a call for a disturbance at a gas station, Raven Gomez punched the responding officer in the face during a weapons search, knocking her to the ground.

The male subject, Brandon David, reportedly got out of the passenger seat of the suspect vehicle, and punched the female officer several times before trying to steal the officer’s vehicle.

After he failed to put the vehicle in drive, he got back into the suspect vehicle, which ran over the officer’s foot twice as they fled the scene on I-49.

The Allen County Sheriff’s Office says Brandon David and Raven Gomez were tracked down to a property five miles southeast of Moran, Kansas, Wednesday evening.

Sheriff Bryan Murphy was assisted by Bourbon County Kansas Sheriff’s Office deputies and took the suspects into custody without incident.

The two face charges in Bourbon County and Allen County but will be taken back to Missouri for further charges first.
