MU study finds leaders set the tone for a respectful workplace culture

A finding revealed that your level of workplace engagement depends on how your boss acts. 

A new study led by researchers at the University of Missouri found that leadership communication helps establish a workplace culture that values respect and recognition. 

The study highlights the influence leaders have on shaping workplace culture and the importance of how they communicate with employees. 

Participants were asked to assess the communication of their supervisor as well as levels of respect in the workplace and individual recognition. 

Researchers plan on exploring the effects of leader communication in the future. 

The research team was made up of experts from the University of Missouri, Kansas State University, and the University of Central Missouri.
