Audit details missing money and mismanagement of Dunklin County Sewer District
A state audit reveals how a couple mismanaged a Missouri Bootheel government department for years.
The city of Malden in Dunklin County asked the state to conduct the audit.
It found over 150-thousand dollars in missing and misappropriated funds.
The audit covers Jan. 2017 to March 2021 when Korey Adams served as the Board President of the Dunklin County Sewer District while his wife Jennifer was employed as the Bookkeeper.
That by itself is a nepotism violation as stated in the Missouri Constitution.
The couple is no longer employed by Dunklin County.
