Area paraglider voices safety concerns amid Hamas attack on Israel

A Joplin-area paraglider is concerned about safety after recent comments made by Donald Trump Jr regarding motorized paragliders.

The former president’s son recently said, “The Democrats out there who’s constantly trying to ban you know, 30-round mags for your AR-15 and the AR-15 themselves. That’s why you need those things. That’s why you need an AR 15. That’s why you need a 30-round mag because if people in motorized paragliders come into your home, that’s what it’s for.”

Those comments come after Hamas’ brutal attacks on Israel on October 7 where they were seen using paragliders as part of their large-scale assault.

A local paraglider we spoke with says he is a staunch supporter of the second amendment but that Don Jr.’s comments are dangerous for those who just simply love flying paragliders across the four-state area.
