Today is Carthage’s Octoberfest!

The event takes place Carthage’s Central Park until 5 p.m. today (Saturday).

Julie Reams, president of Carthage Chamber of Commerce, says there’s lots to do and see.

“We kick off Maple Leaf Week with Octoberfest beginning at 10 a.m. with lots of food and fun,” she said.

“There’ll be lots of food and fun. Carthage Rotary Brats will be there along with gourmet pretzels, live music, bounce houses and kids games,” Reams added.

She says a beer garden will feature local breweries Beard Engine and Indian Springs, along with Pennington Wines.

Central Park is located at 714 S. Garrison Ave. just south of the Carthage Public Library, a few blocks off the Carthage Square.
