Partial eclipse is set to hit a Missouri sky near you on Saturday

Saturday’s partial eclipse will be seen in Missouri during the day.

Whether you get to see the full effect will depend on how cloudy it is, but regardless, the sky will look somewhat like dusk during daylight.

Missouri State University Astronomer Mike Reed says the annular eclipse will look like a crescent in the Missouri sky.

“It’s gonna start at 11 about 11:30 a.m. will be first contact 11:27,” says Reed. “The maximum will occur at 11:53, so right before noon is the best time to look. And then it ends completely at 1:26 p.m.”

To view the eclipse without injuring your eyes, solar viewing glasses, a handheld solar viewer, or a welding mask should be used.
