Forecasters are predicting this winter’s weather to have a bit of a sloppy end in Missouri

This year’s El Niño is predicted to be stronger, which means that it will be a dry start to the season. 

So, Missouri’s drought conditions will likely continue, but chances are looking good that we could see a great deal of precipitation come 2024 in the form of rain and snow. 

The latest edition of the Farmer’s Almanac predicted the same for this winter – cold with widespread snow. 

During an El Niño, the Pacific jet stream moves south, which leaves the northern U.S. dryer and warmer while the south experiences wetter conditions with increased chances of flooding, according to NOAA.
