Man from Pryor charged in indictment returned by Federal Grand Jury
TULSA, Okla. – United States Attorney Clint Johnson says a man from Pryor has been charged in an indictment returned by a Federal Grand Jury.
45-year-old Jason Mark Long is charged with assault with intent to do bodily harm in Indian Country and with carrying, using, and brandishing a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence for allegedly pulling the victim’s hair and placing a gun to her head while threatening to kill her.
The return of an indictment is a method of informing a defendant of alleged violations of federal law, which must be proven in a court of law beyond a reasonable doubt to overcome a defendant’s presumption of innocence.
The Mayes County Sheriff’s Office and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are the investigating agencies.
Assistant U.S. Attorneys Melody Nelson and Michele Hulgaard are prosecuting the case.
