4-H service project to benefit Newton County Ambulance District Stations

Neosho, MO – Newton County 4-H members will host representatives from the Newton County Ambulance District at the University of Missouri Newton County Extension Office on Thursday, October 5 at 5 p.m. for a special presentation in celebration of National 4-H Week (October 1-7, 2023) and Missouri Good Neighbor Week (September 28-October 4).

The 4-H National Day of Service grant was awarded to MU Newton County Extension and provided funds to honor service professionals in the community. After notification of the award, 4-H members collaborated with MU program staff and local businesses to determine a recipient for the project, collect items, and prepare for the special presentation.

Each of Newton County Ambulance District’s five stations will receive donation of kitchen supplies and items through funds provided by the grant as well as support from Newell Brands in Neosho, MO.

As outlined by the Secretary of Agriculture of the United States of American, Thomas J. Vilsack, in The National 4-H Week Proclamation, “… for 120 years, 4-H has served America’s young people to make the best better, and is now the Nation’s largest youth development organization…”

This project highlights the commitment of local 4-H members “To Make the Best Better.”
