Lane closures expected between Verona and Aurora
MoDOT Southwest District – Drivers can expect lane closures and occasional traffic delays on Greene/Christian County Route P between Republic and Clever, and on Business Route 60 in Lawrence County between U.S. Route 60 south of Verona and Cowan Drive in Aurora when a resurfacing project begins the week of October 9, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
Contractor crews will widen the above routes by adding two-foot-wide shoulders along with milling out the old asphalt driver surface and adding an overlay of new asphalt, rumble strips, permanent pavement striping and guardrail in places.
Traffic impacts:
- Traffic reduced to one lane where contractor crews are working
- Drivers will encounter flaggers and pilot cars where crews are working. Drivers should wait for the pilot vehicle before proceeding through the work zone or before entering the work one from a side road.
- The contractor will start on Business 60, with that work being done during daytime hours, 7 a.m.-7 p.m., Monday-Friday
- All Business 60 lanes will be OPEN during nighttime hours
- Work on Greene/Christian County Route P will be done during nighttime hours, 6 p.m.-6 a.m., Monday-Friday
- All Route P lanes will be OPEN during daytime hours
- No signed detour
- Drivers urged find alternate routes
- Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching the work zone
- Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts
- Drivers are urged to use caution as they may experience a rough ride in areas until the resurfacing project is complete.
