First responders conduct training exercises in Joplin

If you see a lot of police, fire, and emergency service agencies in Joplin this Thursday … don’t worry, they are just doing some training!

The Joplin Fire Department and Joplin Police Department along with 13 other area emergency services agencies will be conducting a training exercise at 600 S Grey Ave, West Central Elementary, on Thursday 9-28-23 from 8:00 am to 4:00pm.

This exercise is the culmination of this week’s Active Threat Integrated Response Course presented by the Louisiana State University Academy of Counter-Terrorist Education, National Center for Biomedical Research and Training.

There will be an increased presence of Fire, EMS, and Law Enforcement personnel and vehicles during this time.
