Missouri Lawmaker accused of unlawful conduct in push for contract

The FBI could be looking into the alleged unethical and unlawful behavior of one state lawmaker.

House Speaker Dean Plocher reportedly threatened to fire a legislative staffer over his push to hire a private company to manage constituent information.

Dana Miller, chief clerk of the House, implies that his statements regarding a 2024 campaign run for lieutenant governor were connected to this contract.

Plocher denies wrongdoing, saying that every action he took was “in the interest of good government.”

But a Sunshine Law request shows an unnamed employee complained that this push would lead to more bad behavior.

An FBI agent was seen attending a legislative hearing recently.
