Parents, community invited to Superintendent’s Coffee Talks

JOPLIN, Mo. – Joplin Schools Superintendent Dr. Kerry Sachetta is inviting parents, community members, and community partners to attend an upcoming series of Coffee Talks to discuss district progress, needs and celebrations.
Coffee Talks this school year will be held at the following dates and locations:
● 7:30 to 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20, at Joplin Avenue Coffee, 506 S. Joplin Ave.
● 7:30 to 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31, at Zinc Coffee, 1825 S. Main.
● 7:30 to 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, at Joplin Greenhouse, 2820 E. 32nd St.
Each event will be held in a come-and-go format, with community stakeholders welcome to stop in for a chat about Joplin Schools.
In addition to the superintendent, other central office administrators and school board members will be in attendance to hear feedback from community members about how Joplin Schools can better serve students and staff.
“We want this to be a chance for our parents and community members to ask questions and tell us
what’s on their minds,” said Dr. Sachetta. “It’s important that our families and partners know they’re
a big part of keeping students engaged and successful in school, because education always works
best when it’s a team effort. We hope to spread a wide net with these opportunities so a lot of
people are able to stop by and say hello.”
Anyone interested in learning more about district initiatives or the well-being of Joplin Schools students is welcome to attend.
It is not necessary to RSVP. Refreshments are not provided by the district, but will be available for purchase on site.
