Alliance preparing to acquire new space at 1901 South Pearl

The Alliance of Southwest Missouri is set to close on its new space located at 1901 South Pearl Avenue in Joplin at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 30.

The public is invited to join staff as they celebrate this milestone and enjoy a tour of the facility following the signing.

This property includes the former South Joplin Christian Church which was built in 1916 and boasts 26,861 square feet situated in the heart of Joplin. The building will provide ample space for the non-profit’s growing programs.

In addition to the building, the property includes a park with playground equipment and a large paved parking lot, two features currently lacking from The Alliance’s space at 1601 South Wall Avenue.

“The building at 1901 South Pearl Avenue is 10,000 square feet larger than our current building at 1601 South Wall Avenue, which will allow our staff some breathing room along with an incredible facility to serve kids and their families,” said Jen Black, Executive Director for the Alliance.

Black went on to state, “This opportunity would not be possible without the vision of Scott Vorhees, our Board of Directors, and the Children’s Trust Fund, who facilitated the distribution of the Facility Improvement and Infrastructure Grant, which was allocated by the Missouri Legislature and Governor Parson.”
