Missing Indiana child found, suspect arrested in Commerce
COMMERCE, OK – On August 18, 2023, The Oklahoma Highway Patrol requested the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation to assist with the recovery of a missing child from Indiana.
OHP received information of an Endangered Missing Advisory and that a suspect vehicle was located in Commerce, Oklahoma. OHP troopers and the Commerce Oklahoma Police Department arrived at that location and recovered the child safely. The OSBI Child Abuse Response Team conducted interviews and collected evidence from the scene.
29-year-old Jonathan Eliezer Miranda Juarez was arrested on charges of First-Degree Rape, Possession of Child Pornography, and Harboring a Juvenile Runaway. A federal hold was also placed on Juarez, pending additional charges. He was booked into the Ottawa County Jail.
A collaborative effort between the OSBI, OHP, Commerce Police Department, Claremore Police Department, Delphi Police Department, FBI – Federal Bureau of Investigation, and Homeland security resulted in the successful recovery of this child.
