Boat engine explodes at Lake of the Ozarks; 16 injured

A total of 16 people were injured at the 6.7 mile marker on the Osage Arm of Lake of the Ozarks just after 4 p.m. on Friday when the engine of a Motorboat exploded as it was refueling at a Marina.

Three people were ejected from the boat as a result of the explosion.

Several others were on the dock at the time were injured.

No one was killed. Five had moderate injuries.

The remainder had only minor injuries.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the boat was being driven by 41-year-old Matthew J. Simcox of O’Fallon, Missouri.
