DNR discovers buried tanker trailer near Bevier

A citizen tip in northeastern Missouri proved to be true. 

The Missouri Department of Natural Resources discovered a tanker trailer was buried on property owned by the Macon County Road and Bridge Department. 

The tanker was found on Thursday when digging started at the department’s Bloomington Site off Macon County Route O, three miles north of Bevier in northeastern Missouri, according to Kirksville media. 

The county will be responsible for cleaning up the buried tanker. 

A tipster told the DNR that the tanker contained old road oil. 

The tanker reportedly was buried a few years ago.
