Cooling centers open in Joplin

City of Joplin facilities are open from 8 AM – 5 PM for cooling centers as we experience another extremely hot week. 

This includes Joplin City Hall – first floor, 602 S. Main; Joplin Health Dept., 321 E 4th St.; Dr. Donald Clark Public Safety Center, 303 E. 3rd St.; and Joplin Athletic Center, 3301 W. 1st St.

An Excessive Heat Warning has been issued for counties in southeast Kansas and southwest Missouri. 

Heat indices from 105 to 112 are possible today and Tuesday. 

Hot weather will continue through the end of the week.
