Former Missouri Highway Patrol inspector gets 15 months in prison for accepting bribes
A former supervisory motor vehicle inspector for the Missouri State Highway Patrol has been sentenced to 15 months in prison for accepting cash bribes.
67-year-old Larry S. Conrad received the sentence on Thursday.
He pleaded guilty to a single felony charge of using a facility in interstate commerce, a cell phone, to accept bribes.
He was also ordered to pay al $20,000 fine and to complete 100 hours of community service.
Conrad performed inspections at Highway Patrol Troop C’s facility in South St. Louis County.
Conrad admitted in court to accepting bribes in return for falsifying forms and approving inspections of vehicles that were damaged. .
In April, the former inspector reported accepting approximately $14,020 in bribes over at least six months before being caught and arrested.
