Man in thong allegedly breaks into home, assaults owner

A man from Springfield is behind bars following a home break in. 

41-year-old Gene Samuel Ferguson broke in wearing nothing more than a blue thong before assaulting a woman. 

A Springfield News paper says that he was on parole for a similar offense in December 2019. 

Ferguson, who the victims also said broke into other neighborhood homes after leaving their residence, was subsequently arrested. 

At the time of the incident on Sunday, he was out of jail under the supervision of probation and parole. 

Ferguson faces charges of first-degree burglary and first-degree sexual abuse.
