Woman in buggy dies when hit by car in Morgan County

MORGAN COUNTY, Mo. – A woman was killed after her horse-drawn buggy was struck by a vehicle in Morgan County in north-central Missouri around 1:20 Monday afternoon.

Anna M. Leinbach, 53, of Barnett, was an occupant in  a buggy driven by John A. Leinbach, 51, also of Barnett.

They were riding on Route C east of Ringwood Road north of Barnett.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the crash occurred when a Jeep Compass operated by 74-year-old Dorothy J. Riggs of Eldon struck the rear of the buggy.

The Leinbachs were both ejected from the buggy.

Anna Leinbach was pronounced dead at the scene. John Leinbach suffered moderate injuries and was taken to a hospital in that area.

Riggs was not injured.
